Offered by Kodaikanal AMI Centre for Montessori Studies. The course is delivered by the Trainer, Jenny-Marie Höglund from Centre for Work and Study at Rydet, Sweden. This is the second AMI Adolescent DiploSma held in India.

The course is for anyone interested in the Montessori approach for the 12-18 years age group including those working at Montessori schools and interested professionals from all areas with an interest in working with adolescents.

  • Anyone to pursue their interest in Montessori Education.

  • A study of Montessori theory including the first two planes of development (birth to twelve), focusing on aspects relating to our work with adolescents
  • Plans of Study and Work including production and exchange, self-expression and community life for adolescents
  • Residential experiences and work on the land
  • Seminars and discussions on Montessori texts
  • Written assignments on Montessori principles applied to adolescents




PART-2
During Academic Year
In places of your choice
  • Observation assignments of children 0-6 and 6-12, and adolescents 12-18
  • Supervised and documented teaching practice side-by-side with adolescents
  • Work with administrators
  • Additional study and writing on Montessori principles

PART-3
6 Weeks

  • Further refinement of Montessori’s vision for the third plane of development and its implementation
  • Sharing of your observations and experiences through the lens of Montessori core principles in order to best support adolescents in their development
  • Mini-workshops on theoretical and practical concerns
  • Two written and one oral AMI examinations

The prestegious AMI Diploma Certificate is provided on completion of the course with 90% attendance, teaching practice, and observations.

THE TRAINER

Jenny Marie Höglund

Jenny Marie Höglund is an AMI trainer for 6-12 and 12-18 level. She holds both an AMI 3-6 and 6-12 Diploma as well as a Master of Education. Jenny has been a Montessori guide for more than 30 years and has been part of the AMI/NAMTA Orientation to Adolescent Studies since 2003.

In 1995, Jenny was the co-founder of Montessoriskolan Lära för livet in Varberg, Sweden, for children 1 - 12 years old. For the adolescents, Jenny started The Montessori Centre for Work and Study situated in Sätila. It is the home to a well-respected Adolescent Community and has been a pioneer at the centre of Adolescent Training in Europe.

QUINTA ESSENTIA

Quinta Essentia will host the residential component of India's second AMI Adolescent Diploma 12-18 in 2024.

The Adolescent Community - Quinta Essentia Centre for Study and Work – The first center in India located in Pondicherry, integrating Montessori’s vision for adolescents into the Indian context, and utilising the strong culture, traditions, lifestyle, and agricultural wisdom that has been passed down through generations of local farmers as the foundation on which the Adolescent Community is built.

Quinta Essentia also had the privilege of hosting the India's first AMI Adolescent Diploma 12-18 in 2023
